6248 - bridge multicast forbidden forward-unregistered
Hi,
we are trying to use 6248 to connect multicast streaming servers to multicast router. The problem is that until the switch sees at least 1 join message for the multicast groups the packets are flooded (i read about this in other threads here).
So i want to ask how is this option "bridge multicast forbidden forward-unregistered" supposed to work, because it also stops packets on the port where multicast router is connected, it shouldn't do that imho (i think EVERY multicast packet should be forwarded on that port regardless of any other setting). On 3448 it is possible to define forward-all per ethernet port, but on 6248 it is possible to do this only per whole VLAN?
