Powerconnect 5524 stacking issue

We manually reset our master switch to test with the expectation that the second unit would seamlessly become the master.  Although unit 2 did become the master it wasn't seamless, briefly all network connectivity was lost and all ports of the second unit reset

Why would all ports on unit 2 go down when it becomes the master.


Firmware is the latest on all switches

Can anyone assist

    Many thanks for your reply, the outage is around 10 seconds and ring topology is configured

    The firmware is indeed  running 4.1.0.20

    Many thanks for your help, I just wanted confirmation this was normal

    Having the same issue, whenever a unit get disconnected from the stack we have reboot the entire stock. Updated the switch firmware to 4.0.10.22 still the same result.
