Dear All,

Sorry for a silly question. 

Currently I am configuring VLAN for S4128, according to Dell's best practice, I should configure VRRP as well.

Here is the table

 

Purpose	VLAN	SW01	SW02	VRRP
ESXi Management	192	192.168.3.251 / 24	192.168.3.252 / 24	??

 

In vMware environment 

Purpose	VLAN	HOST1	HOST2	GATEWAY
ESXi Management	192	192.168.3.18	192.168.3.19	192.168.3.1

 

My question is that:

Host1 and Host2 are registered in DNS with the gateway 192.168.3.1 and FQDN (host1.mydomain.com, host2.mydomain.com) 

what is the VRRP I should enter? or I should get different IP for VRRP e.g 192.168.3.253? it should not matter to the real gateway 192.168.3.1, shouldn't it? 

Any help/ advice would be much appreciated.
