Inspiron 8200 Problem

Hello,

I am trying to install a wireless network card via my PCMCIA slot and it doesn't seem to be working. The card is a D-Link DWL-650+ and the problem is that the slot isnt reading the card because the indicatior light on the card doesn't turn on. I already downloaded the most up to date drivers for the card and uninstalled and reinstalled both PCMCIA slots but nothing seems to work. Can anyone please help me? I think it might be a problem with the slot, but I am not sure.

Thank you.

When you plug it in, if nothing is showing up in the device manager, then it is probably a bad slot or a bad card.

If something is showing up, but it isn't working, that is probably a drivers issue.

Thanks for your reply. The card is good because I tested it on another laptop. However, I thought it would have been a slot problem but I find it weird that both of the slots are not working. Is there no way to troubleshoot that? Is it an internal issue?

    Thanks

Perhaps it's a stupid question, Why this? Could you give more detailed description?
