Hello, I have a Dell 8600. Recently I have reinstalled Windows XP on it as I had been having some problems with it. When I got done reinstalling it, my internet connection worked fine. A day or so ago, it suddenly stopped working. I connect to the internet through a router. According to the network properties menu, the connection is active but very few packets have been sent. There is no hardware problem and the network card is not the problem as I have tried another card with the same result. The lights on my router light up as well, so it appears that it is getting through to the router, i'm just not getting an internet connection. I have released and renewed by IP addresses many times with no results. Both of the other computers connected to the router work fine. I have also tried hooking my computer up to the cable modem directly. Again, this did no solve the problem. Do you have any other suggestions on how I could fix this problem.
