I had to call Dell last month to reinstall my modem drivers and I couldn't use my dial-up. It's happened again and I have forgotten how to do it. Can someone please advise. Also, why does this keep happening? It's a real problem as my DSL is down all the time and I need ready access to my dialup modem.
Thanks for the link. I did reinstall the drivers and my dialup works now. I do have a problem in my phone line that is probably affecting my DSL and I have SBC looking into it right now. The problem with my modem is that the drivers keep getting corrupted and not working, I've always been able to maintain a connection with the dialup as long as the modem is working. My DSL is with ATT and I haven't had much luck with their tech support, so I'm trying to track the problem through SBC and my phone line.
However, if you are experiencing problems with your DSL, it may be possible that problems on that same line are affecting your phone service. If you receive telephone service and DSL service from the same company, and continue to have problems dialing out whenever your DSL goes down, you should contact the necessary parties within that company to have them check both your DSL
and telephone services.
