network adapter not functioning?

Since 2 months I have the following problem: the first time each day I power on my computer I cannot get internet access. I cannot reach the networkcenter to check if anything is wrong. Sometimes after a long wait (10 minutes) I get the alert: network adapter is not available. The only option is to power down the computer and to power on again. Usually then I have internetacces. I have run all kinds of diagnostics on the dell site but when internet acces is working nothing seems to be wrong. I have a XPS dimension 8300 with a Broadcom Netlink Gigabit Ethernet adapter

    Hi Dick44,

Please check in safe mode with networking if you are able to go online.

To check in safe mode with networking follow the below steps:

    1. Restart the computer.
    2. Keep tapping F8 on the Dell Logo Screen.
    3. Once the computer enters Advanced Boot Option, select Safe Mode with Networking.
    4. Press Enter.

Check if the computer is doing the same thing in safe mode with networking.

If you are able to go online using the wired network in safe mode with networking reboot the computer normally and run MS fixit. Use the below link

    Link: http://bit.ly/HPsyBy

Click the link above and select Run now.

If the problem still persists I recommend network card drivers update for the computer.

    1. Visit the following website: http://dell.to/Mbe3zg
    2. Enter the Service tag of the computer in the box provided and click “Submit”.
    3. In the next page, click drop down arrow to select the Operating System which is installed in the computer.
    4. Under category Network, select the drivers accordingly and click “Download File” and save the file on desktop and run it.

Check the internet connection and post the results.

    Hello Nikhil D,

    Thanks for your suggestions.

This is what I have done.

First I have tried safe mode with networking. The same problem: no networkadapter available. I rebooted the computer in normal mode: and then I have network capability.

    I ran MS fixit.

Then I updated the network card drivers. I couldn"t update this driver:  Dell ASSY,CRD,NTWK,BLTH,365,DT,2

BT 365 Module Driver for Win7> It reported an error. The other drivers are up to date.

I run the Dell dignostics: it reported no errors. But when I have no internetaccess I cannot run the diagnostic...

I also ran Broadcom Advanced Control Suite 3. This reports no errors when internet access is available.

This morning I had to reboot the computer 5 times before I had internet access. Yesterday  I could acces the internet 2 times without having to reboot. Once I have access everything works fine?

    Kind regards,

    ***

    Hi Dick44,

Uninstalling and reinstalling the network card drivers will help.

Please private message me the service tag of your computer. I will check the right network card drivers for the computer and send it to you.

To private message click my user name, select “Add as friend” and click “Start Conversation” and message me the service tag.

    Awaiting your response.
