Network Settings
I have totally lost my ability to connect my PC (Dimension 8250; XP w/SP1) to my home network and has cable broadband routed to it. One day it worked and the next it quit. I have very good security and had not loaded any new software.
I would really appreciate it if someone could either provide or point me to the Dell (or other) web site pages that have all the related step-by-step settings for XP to enable LAN and cable broadband. BTW... everything else residing on the PC seems to be OK.
Many thanks... dabronxboy

Have your tried resetting the cable modem by turning everything off, waiting a few minutes, then turning on the modem, waiting a few more minutes, then turning on the computer? Are you using a router? With everything connected, go to Start > Run and type cmd then click OK. In the command prompt window that opens, type ipconfig /all then hit the Enter key. Copy down all of the text that results from this command and put in a reply to this message. That will help with troubleshooting the problem.
