Today I posted a problem I am having with Internet Explorer in the Microsoft OS forum. I have used the Dell forum for most of my Microsoft OS issues for almost 3 years and have learned so much from this community.
Although I realize many changes have been made to this community, I was not aware it no longer provides support for Microsoft OS, as I was just informed by a member called Speedstep.
If this is the case, please tell me exactly what is the purpose of the Microsoft OS category?
That thread was locked, so no more responses to that one. However, looking at your reported problem, it does look like an AOL problem if ALL other sites can be accessed OK via Internet Explorer. Also you state you get to the URL but then are redirected and that is a function of AOL, not Internet Explorer. You should update I.E.7 to I.E.8 and then see what happens.
Whatever the problem turns out to be, AOL should have been the first place you went for assistance.

Had the issue existed with the other browsers, I would have contacted AOL's forum. However, as I stated in my post this morning, the issue only exists with Internet Explorer, and not Fire Fox nor Chrome. Now I am discovering with Internet Explorer I am having the same issues accessing other sites, such as Download.com and CNN.com.
I upgraded to IE 8. It caused numerous problems and I finally downgraded back to IE 7.
In any case, my post above poses the question whether this community continues to offer support for Microsoft OS as is indicated or has ceased as I was told.
I discovered why IE was not accessing several websites. Somehow these sites, all of which I visit on a regular basis, were on the Always Block list in Internet Options. Once I removed those websites from the list, IE accessed them without any problems, including AOL webmail
Thanks for the feedback and that you got it working. Had you noted it was more than one site, it would have made a difference. I don't know how those sites were blocked, looking at my I.E. the only way they can be blocked is if I manually enter a site.
A lot of times someone will post a problem - whatever the problem is and after digging into it we find there is more to it than what was initially posted and it totally changes the problem and troubleshooting and outcome. This is one of those cases.
AOL is another issue, most of the time when someone posts a problem with AOL or accessing AOL it IS an AOL problem, that also threw off the troubleshooting.
