Drive Controller Issue In BIOS

Hiya,

I've recently bought an Optiplex 380 as a retro do-up project. I'm trying to install XP on it, and it's given me the classic drive configuration blue screen. Looking at the service manual, it says my model should have a setup tab called "SATA Operation" to configure drive controllers - however it isn't there, so i'm just wondering if there's any way to change the drive controller without an OS on the machine (ideally to IDE cos I know that'll work with XP)

Thanks!

    it is under Drives tab

for old Dell desktop issue first try replace cmos battery w a new one then clear cmos settings via mobo jumper.
