microphone input issue

Hello

i have dell optiplex 7010 mt and the front mic input is not working,,

when i try to use the rear line-in/mic input the mic reads as a line in ,,

First thought, assuming there is no hardware issues, do you have the correct Dell Realtek sound driver for the OS you are using (e.g. Win 10). Dell Drivers Link

What microphone are you using? (it needs a mic with a TRS plug, not a TRRS like many phones use).
