Boost Mode on a Dell UPS 1920W
Hello,
I have upgraded my DELL UPS 1920W to the last firmware, 01.14.0003 and I am using the last Local Node Manager.
In the evenement log, I see a lot of Entering Boost Mode records and also returning to normal mode
Is it normal ?
what doest it mean ?

Hello
I still have boost mode alerts, and checking the ouptut voltage, it is set at 230V
but the input voltage is around 208/210V
I would like to set the output voltage to 220V (to avoid all hte boost mode alerts) but from the panel I cannot change the output value
and in the local node management software, there is no possibility to change the output value
question: is it possible to change the output voltage value ? if yes How ?

To change the input voltage of the UPS it has to be in the Standby mode (AC still connected to the input but the outputs off). Once you are in Standby mode you can go through the LCD menu of the UPS to change the output voltage. You cannot change the output voltage while the UPS is running (outputs on).

The latest firmware is there as well the firmware upgrade tool. The latest ULNM management tool is also there.
Hello,
Last week end I could shut down the server, and I disconnect all the outlets on the UPS 1920W
I tried to change the output voltage, but no way, I cannot change it ????
Is there an method to be in stanby mode ?
I thought with no charge at all I could change the output voltage, but may be I was not in stanby mode ??

UPS Standby mode the icon on the LCD display should be the "on/off" power button icon. If you still see the icon that looks like a power plug the UPS is still running.This is called out on the User's Guide Table 4/

Boost mode means the UPS is taking the input voltage and boosting it to the correct output voltage without having to have the UPS go on battery. If this is happening often then either the UPS is set to the wrong output voltage (set to 240 when input is really 220) or there is an actual issue with the input voltage to the UPS. Having the UPS operate in boost mode does not effect reliability.
