DELL R740 Server GPU

Hello,

I have an A100 GPU and wanted to install it in the R740 Dell server. I have got one 8pin-16pin connector that is come from the box which is use to power up the GPU. However, as shown in the picture, I'm not able to find the power cable that can be use to power up the GPU. Please advise.

Thank you

Shine's assist is spot on. You could also send me your service tag by DM for further troubleshooting.

    Hello,

I tried to install the A100 GPU(80GB) into the R740 it work perfectly, but when I install the same GPU into R7525 server, it give me power issue, and I'm not able to boot because of the error. I tried the A100GPU(40GB) into the R7525 server, and it work great. Please advice.

"The system halted because system power exceeds capacity."

    Thank you.

    Hello YAPYAP,

Did you get the GPU Power Cable Install Kit R7525 and R750?

    https://dell.to/402l2RX

    On the R7525 the A100 80 GB has only been validated on riser configuration R1A + R2A + R3A + R4A (Full Length) .

Check you are using one of the Slot priority order: 2, 5, 7

    Hello YAPYAP,

Ok, maybe we can tell by the service tag.

    Per your statement:

"I install the same GPU into R7525 server, it give me power issue"

Could you Private Message the R7525 Service tag to Young?

I am at shift end today.

Can you also tell us the kit part number you ordered for the power cables?

    Hi,

Yes, I do have the GPU Power Cable.

I don't quite understand the riser configuration. I have attached a reference photo, I install the GPU in the middle (Riser 3) as you can see in the photo.
