Memory module compatibility

Hi:

Can I mix and match the following two memory modules between machines?:

From 1950:
9F030, Dual In-line Memory Module, 1G 667M, 128X72, 8, 240, 2RX8

From 2950:
MR270, Dual In Line Memory Module, 512667M64X72, 8, 240, 1RX8

Thank you,
BaliBob

The first one (9F030), will work in both machines.  The second one you listed I show as memory from a Precision Workstation.

    Hi Dennis:

Strange, I took that MR270 part no. from the Dell Service Tag lookup online for 2950.
In any event, I think I've determined they're interchangeable, but possibly must be used in pairs, yeah?

    Thank you,
    BaliBob

You may want to remove your service tag and that link, as it's against the Terms of Service (that you agreed to when you signed up) and could get your post removed (and possibly the whole thread).

    Hi Dev Mgr:

Service Tag and Dell URL removed from post.  I didn't realize including those details are against the Ts & Cs.  Out of curiosity, why?

    Thanks,

I think it's because it allows you to look up someone else's system specifications, the shipdate of the system and the warranty status.
