I have just installed a Dell PowerEdge 2800 Server that has 4 NICs I have configure static IP addressing and internet gateway, however I am unable to connect to the Internet but i can browse my local network. What could possible be the problem?
would suggest to stop "Routing and Remote Access service" to prevent making your server as a router. issue "route print" under the command prompt to make sure the default route is pointing to the ethernet interface of your Internet router.
I solved the problem by using the ISP's primary DNS instead of using the local gateway as the DNS (which incidentally works for the PC's on the network).

If you remove all but 1 nic and can then get to the internet.
Nics dont automatically route between each other.
Its bad enough when 2 nics are in there.
Removing doesnt mean physically. It just means disable in software via the bios or a driver.
