Dell PE-R630 RAID Controller Question
I have been given a R630 that was used for ESXi 6.0, but only for compute so no RAID controller or RJ45 NIC. As I want to use it for a home lab and run the ESXi 7.x I need to add parts. Based on different threads here in the community I have figured out the better option for RAID controller is the PERC H730 over the H330, however I'm not sure of the part numbers I need. Looking ServerSupply.com I see two option for H730: Part numbers RH3XC and 405-AAEJ, would one of those work? I assume I will need cables as well, and will gladly supply the Dell service tag if needed. Thanks in advance for the help.

Below are the part number of RAID controller card supported in R630
80WCN, 9JXVW - H330
K7GHD, KMCCD - H730
3V42G, 7H4CN - H730PFor cables we need to know what backplane you have on the server. Can you share the part# of number of drive slots your backplane have so we can get the correct cable details.
Below link have details on cabling for various backplane

Thanks for the details. You have 8X2.5 backplane. You can use below cable to connect this backplane to Mini (integrated) PERC controller
