Identifying raid controller limitations

Hi,

I have a poweredge R720 with 16 disks. After doing some bench mark testing of my Vmware virtual machine with IO Meter Im getting read and write IO errors. I suspect these are being caused by the RAID controller (h310), but I have no way of proving this. Whats the best way to identify whether the controller is causing a bottle neck/read write error?

Thanks

One thing we can do is run a dset report on the server. Now this is dependent on the OS installed. What do you have installed currently?

After running it we can review the controller log and see if anything is reporting.

I have server 2008 R2 installed, but I've downloaded the OMSA Cent OS CD and ran DSET, however the resulting zip file barely touched on storage testing

Would you be able to forward me the zip file? I will send you an email you can reply and attach to if you like.
