So what is needed is that you need to install the MPIO drivers that is on the resource CD & it will remove all the extra paths for been seen. Now the issue that you are going to run into is that the version of MDSM that is needed for your MD3800f is not supported by 2003, but with that being said as long as you install the MPIO driver off the resource CD it should correct the issue that you are seeing. Here is a link to the Resource CD as well as a link to the Deployment guide just in case you need them.

No that is not the reason that you are seeing 8 VD in disk management. If you don’t install MPIO from the resource cd  you will see any virtual disk that is assigned to the host from MDSM show for all 8 paths from your MD3800F.  Once you install MPIO and may have to reboot the server you should only see 1 virtual disk showing in disk management.

What you are going to have to do is to install the MPIO drivers from the link below as that version is supported for windows 2003. Now you only need to install the MPIO drivers & not the FULL install of MDSM as that version of MDSM will not see your MD3800f.

Yes, we used the same MDSM version from 6.0.x verion. We will try again this Saturday. Do we need to un-install MDSM before re-install?

I will try again this Saturday. :). Our region team said it is not support (MPIO for Windows 2003 on MD3800).
