NF600 Power button cannot Shut Down Windows 2003

Hi,

Currently my NF200 server can't fast shutdown using power button. I had selected "Shut Down" option under the control panel-> power option.

Anyone know why can't fast shutdown? is it the bios not support?

Thanks

Nicholas

You should be able to hold the power button and power off the system. If you hold it for 10-15 seconds and nothing happens you may be dealing with a bad control panel. I would recommend calling into support que and they could assist in making sure that is it and can replace it if needed and if the system is under warranty. The NF-600 is the same chassis as the PowerEdge 2900. If you are out of warranty you can look through the user guide and maybe try and reseat the control panel as just reseating the cables may fix the issue. It starts on pg 105.

I hope this helps. Let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with.

    Nicholas Tee,

I just want to make sure I am understanding you correctly. You have the NF-600 and you are wanting to be able to hold the power button to turn it off rather then doing it from with in the Operating System? Please let me know if I am understanding you correctly and I would be happy to continue assisting on this for you.
