942 printer paper jam

I have found out this weekend that the Dell system I bought with the premium warranty DID NOT COVER my Dell 942 printer .
So when I called Tech. for assistance and sat on hold for 45 min. they told me to try this forum .
Here goe's .
I went to print a paper and the paper went down into the printer and the ribbons would start moving back and forth like it was printing but the paper never fed anyfurther . After about 4 seconds of it sounding like it was printing , it would say that there was a paper jam . I removed that sheet and put in 1 new sheet and tried it again . Same result . I put 3 sheets in , same result . I put several sheets in , same result . Paper jam . but yet the paper never feeds down into the machine far enough to get ink on it . Any and all help would be greatly appreciated in this matter because I dont have enough money to go buy a new printer .
Thank you again ,

    Hi,

There is an unconventional method for resolving paper jams for inkjet printers. Try these options.

    1. As per the description..it seems that there is a kind of an obstrucle that stops the printing process..So try to remove any obstructions.

    2. Lift the printer upside down and shake it for a while..Most of the cases this should work..

    Thanks and regards

    Try to reset your printer.

    1. Hold down the power button on the printer for 10 seconds.

    2. Unplug the printer power cord from the electrical outlet for 10 seconds.
