I recently bought a v313 All-in-one printer for an AMD x64 system. Since the support pages said that this printer supported Linux, I happily installed an Ubuntu distribution (10.4, but I understand that packages for 9.4 would also work fine for this release).
However, during installation of the driver (R247646.tar.gz, for "Ubuntu 9.4", which uncompresses to dell-inkjet-09-driver-1.0-1.i386.deb.sh), I receive the following message:
Operating system: linux CPU Arch: x86_64 TRACKING IDENT = 140509 cpu speed = 800 MHz ram size = 8002.90625 MB hd avail = 786842 MB dpkg: error processing dell-inkjet-09-driver-1.0-1.i386.deb (--install): package architecture (i386) does not match system (amd64) Errors were encountered while processing: dell-inkjet-09-driver-1.0-1.i386.deb
And after this, the driver installation halts.
I can build a virtual machine running a 32-bit linux or some flavor of windows to avoid the problem, but I would much prefer Dell to release an updated driver. When the product page says that an OS is supported, I expect better than this (at least, Dell should have the honesty of labeling their support as "Linux 32-bit only").
Another V313 64-bit Linux user here. Is seriously still no 64-bit driver for this model? I wonder, has anyone been able to identify which model of Lexmark (probably) this is a re-badge of?
Still using a VM to print things. A serious hassle, and will never buy another Dell printer promising "linux support", unless they really clean up their act.

Hi,
Just FYI, I am faced with the same issue. Have you been able to solve it?
The thread I started is at en.community.dell.com/.../19900792.aspx
Best regards,
Joachim
