Dell 3300 Wireless Print Adapter

My Setup
Dell Optiplex 280 w a wireless  and Wired NIC
Linksys Wireless router
Dell 964 Multi Function Printer

All NICs and the printer adapter are installed and accessible on the network. From my pc I can ping the 3300 print adapter. To complete the installation Dell instructs to install print drivers from the provided CD. This step is also to setup the network port in which to print to. The problem is that in this step Dells printer configurator does not locate the print adapter. However I can go to the 3300 printer adapter web interface and access the adapter from my pc. The adapter also recognizes the printer.

Make sure you have any firewalls disabled. Win xp firewall, norton security etc.

You would think this is a good place for help but it pretty much suxs. I've had a question up for a couple weeks and havn't had any replies from a dell moderator or tech support person.

Your problem description matches mine exactly.  ((Except in my case, I can add the fact that I am only having this problem with my new Dell.  I have two other (older) PCs on my network...each of which can locate (and use) the printer adapter without a problem.))

If you resolve this problem, PLEASE post your solution.  I will do the same.  Thanks!

If you haven't done so try the following:
1 ) Run the 3300 "Set IP Address Utlity" found in Start/programs/Dell/Dell Wireless Adapter. This will locate the IP address of the printer.
    2) Start up your web Browser and type in "http://x.x.x.x" without the quotes. The "x' is the IP address located above.
    3) You will need to enter a password.
    4) Click on the TCP/IP setting and ensure that the "Enable DHCP" is NOT selected. Incidently, the IP address should be the same as above.
    5) Next navigate to the Printers and Fax folder and right click on the Dell 962 icon
    6) Click on Properties and then click on the Ports Tab
    7) Scroll down and locate the entry specifying Dell 962 Printer Port and then click on Configure Port
    8) You should now check that the IP address displayed is the same as the 3300 device above. If it isn't then this probably is causing your problem. Click on the Configure button and set it to be equal.

    Hope this helps
