Dell AIO 962 - scan

Scan still not working properly.  I have gone through the PudgyOne procedures to remove the printer and download the drivers, etc.  I only downloaded the Vista 32-Drivers.  Should I have downloaded some of the other drivers?  The scan mode will not allow document *.doc extensions and extration is not the same as the document scanned.  All I get are pictures extensions (*.jpg, *.bmp,  *.rtf, etc.)  Suggestons???

    barc30,

If you're trying to scan to Word, use the .rtf extension. It will kick in the OCR Program and then open Work. You MUST Update list of applications to send scans to and add Word that way. I use Open Office(like Word but FREE) and I am setup wirelessly. I put 5 documents in the ADF and select scan, select my Laptop, enter pin(Not required unless you wanty one), it gives me the list of applications to send scans to, then I select Open Office on the printer. It will scan all the pages and look like it's not doing anything but after the last page goes in, then you see the results. Start small with 2 pages first so you can adjust any settings you may want to use.

    Scanning

Scanning using USB connection, open the Dell All-In-One Center, click on scanning and copying and scan from there.

Scanning wirelessly, use the scan buttons on the printer.
