printer not recognized

My Dell 720 printer worked fine, but after I put it in storage for a couple months, my computer won't recognize that the printer's USB is connected. Any suggetions?

    In Control Panel, Printers, is the 720 selected as the default printer?  Do you get any error messages.

    I have the identical problem with my epson 1280 and the vista drivers. Have you been able to solve your problem yet?
