Can you copy a document under the glas? Black & White and color?

Does this happen when using the ADF or when scanning on the flatbead?

If I scan a document under the glass, a large black bar appears on the left hand side. If I scan using the adf, a large black bar appears on the right hand side. It doesn't matter if I choose black and white or color, the black bar still appears.

If it appears when using both the ADF and the flatbead, it sound like the scanner bulb is failing. You'll need to replace the scanner. I would use the ink up before disposing the printer, unless you just purchase a scanner.
