V305w wireless setup
Has anyone successfully setup this printer wirelessly? During the setup, it finds my SSID and prompts for the WEP key. I type the 10 digit key in but there are 3 additional characters at the end. These characters are not present when I'm typing so I can't delete them. This it preventing me from completing the setup.
Here is the exact message from the Dell Wireless Setup Utility. Notice the 3 extra characters after the 9 that I did not type.

You did not enter a valid WEP key. The character '0123456789®w 'is

First thing to do is to get your wireless router working correctly.
Update the firmware in the wireless router(make and model needed, manufacturer's website)
Broadcast SSID(Change this. It will make it easier to connect.)
Use WPA-PSK(TKIP) Security (Most wireless devices work best with this type of security.)
Mixed b and g mode(n if available)
Use channels 1, 6 or 11. Most wireless devices work best on these channels.
Save and exit. Power everything off for 30 seconds. Turn everything back on. Try and connect.
Now to setup your printer.
Make a System Restore Point. Download and run Windows Installer CleanUp Utility to completely remove the printer from your computer. Choose only the printer to remove.
Restart your computer.
Now go to drivers and downloads/select product/printers/select your printer. Download drivers.
Now follow these instructions How Do I Connect a Dell™ Wireless Printer to a Wireless Network. These instructions should help you connect the printer to your wireless network.
If your printer is setup correctly, then you should be able to install the drivers, choose network and follow the instructions. Please make sure to follow the instructions from How Do I Connect a Dell™ Wireless Printer to a Wireless Network
