D:\ drive save error

Whenever I attempt to save a word document to my cd/dvd drive, I first receive an error message saying "incorrect function". I have to click OK and then another error window comes up saying "You do not have access to the folder 'D:\'. See administrator for access to this folder". Well, I'm the only one that uses my laptop and I've had it for about 3 months and this is the first time I've tried to save something to disk. I'm using Office 2003 and I'm working on a Dell Inspiron 6000. All I want to do is save a document to a disk. Hopefully someone can help...

Save it to the hard drive.  Then, right click on the document, then click Sent To and send it to the disk.
