Got a (new for me and factory refurbed) Lat E6420 today.  Started up fast, transferred files fast, installed 3rd party software fast, you name it, until it came time for MS Office Pro + 2010 to go on.  I figured that if it went onto XP SP3 OK on the Lat D600 it's replacing, it ought to be an easy thing on this box with Win7Pro.  Wrong.

Took umpteen tries while working from the CD (lots of "invalid PID" and "can't find proofing.en-us" errors and it still wouldn't go on.  Ended up copying the complete DVD contents to the hard drive.  It went on the first time.  Go figure.

Just thought I'd share instead of lipping off or having auto-run MIDI files playing.  :-þ
