Get a system error with RoxWatchTray120EM.exe after installing Quicken Premier 2008. When the computer starts, get the error and it says"the program can't start because LayoutDll.120EM.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." Without doing a total system recovery to reload this Roxio Creator program, any ideas on how to solve this? I did so many system restores, I no longer have any restore points prior to the problem, they disappeared. Restore only solved the problem temporarily until Quicken was loaded, then it reappeared, so I doubt a recovery would help. This is a brand new Dell 8300.
Time to upgrade Quicken. The 2008 version is now 3 years old and should be updated. Uninstall it and see if the Roxio problem goes away. You should have the 2010 or 2011 version of Quicken with windows 7. 2008 version has problems with win 7. None of your personal Quicken files will be affected. I've never heard of that Roxio program. Make sure you didn't install it yourself on your new win 7 computer. Your new computer will have its own new win 7 version of Roxio. Older utilities like old versions of Roxio will not run on win 7 computers. Uninstall it if you did add an old version. Don't add any other old xp or vista utility programs on your new computer. Just copy your personal files--documents, photos, music etc.
Hi - I got here too to see if I can solve this same problem. I got the same message you got after installing Quicken. If you get yours solved please let me kknow. I tried to reinstall the DVDs which came with the Dell Computer. - <ADMIN NOTE:email id removed per privacy policy>
I was ready to restore the system and waste money on an updated Quicken. Found a solution without doing either. Go to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx and run the AutoRuns program. It is explained on that page what to do, but after you run that program, it shows everything that is loaded on startup. Just uncheck the RoxWatchTray, close out everything, and restart, your problem should be gone!
The problem is that the Environment System Path was changed by a previous installation. In my case it was Quicken 2008. It removed many paths from the system path. It changed the path from:
I had a similar problem happen to me on a 64bit Windows 7 machine. The machine appeared to be running just fine, then I installed a version of Microsoft Office. After that, Roxio Creator Silver 4 started reporting the following:
RoxWatchTray13.exe - System Error The program can't start because LayoutDll13.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
LayoutDll13.dll was, in fact, installed on my computer. Reinstalling Roxio did not help. In addition, a copy of Lotus Symphony 3.0 FP3 started reporting an equally disturbing error:
IBM Lotus Symphony - Fatal Error The application cannot be started. The component manager is not available. Start the setup application to repair the installation from the CD or the folder containing the installation packages.
Reinstalling Lotus Symphony 3.0 FP3 did not help with this problem, either.
The problem turned out to be with the video drivers for the Nvidia graphics card that was running in "Nvidia Optimus" mode. Updating the video card driver resolved both problems. I happened to find the answer documented on the IBM website here: https://www-304.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21512506

A return to factory settings is fairly simple when the computer is new if that is your only option.
