Server Sizing

Hi,

 

I am planing to deploy a community site for which I expect 1 million to 3 million users per day.  Can anyone suggest a good Dell PowerEdge Server configuration to meet this requirement.   The application is based

on ASP.NET and going to have Windows 2003 Standard Edition and MS SQL Server 2005.

    With 3 million hits per day you'd probably want a pretty beefie system. Something like an R900 with 2003 x64, 16GB and a solid raid setup (raid 1 for the OS and raid 10 for the data drives) is probably a good place to start.
