clone software recommendation
I'm wanting to make a copy of my hard drive and I'm hoping that it's possible to create a clone.
In my dreams this cloned hard drive could then be installed into the computer and boot up and run just like the original hard drive.
Is anyone doing this type of cloned back up?
If so what software are you using? I'd prefer to use something that is free, but am open to recommendations.
Thanks,
Luke

Among the commercial ones, Acronis True Image is inexpensive and works easily and well (www.newegg.com sells it for $30).
There is also Symantec Ghost.
