Downloading...

I'm having a problem, can't download anything from the net...???????

Is Windows up to date on critical patches?

Do you have current, real-time antivirus and firewall protection?

Have you scanned for and removed all spyware?

More basic questions: how do you connect? Can you reach web sites or your home page? Is it only downloading files that won't work or any web page? Are you sure your phone line/cable is properly connected, etc.

I'm on cable, no problem to get on the net, or web pages, and surfing the net, but if I find something I would like to download...... lets say Incredimail, it won't let me download it.

I am having speed issues when downloading files from the net. When trying to download a game I had previously downloaded on a slower cpu it only took a few minutes. My new xps400 with windows service pack2 took better than two hours. Is there something I am doing wrong or something I can do to speed it up? I am on a high-speed cable modem
