DVD/CD not working.

In My Computer neither device shows up.  I can't get a disc to play.  In the device manager there is a yellow ! by each device.   NEC DVD+RW ND-1100A and Lite-on LTN 4865 48x max.

Any help out there???

I did as instructed and now they both have a yellow ! with  error code 19 instead of 41.  Anymore suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

As far as I understand the article it is wanting me to go into the registry editor.  I am unsure of how to get to it.....

You are truly an ANGEL in disguise.  They are both back in the My Computer and in the Device Manager there are no yellow !'s.   I can't thank you enough for all your help and patience.

God Bless you and all the joy you bring people like me needing help

What you are looking for is usually at the bottom and it is the folder SYSTEM.
Open that and open CURRENTCONTROLSET.  Next open CONTROL then open CLASS.  Now
you will see a number of items that look like each other.  Finally open
4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318 and you will see the UpperFilters and
LowerFilters to the right.  Delete them and re-boot.

Get a good nights rest and look again in the morning or perhaps you can obtain
some assistance from a friend.  You are so close to the solution.

Assuming you have Windows XP: select START, then select RUN.  When the requester opens,
type "Regedt32" without the quotes.  Click OK.  The Registry Editor will open.  Follow
the instructions in the Article very carefully and this should solve you problem.

I guess I am not very computer savvy.  I got into the registry editor and can't find the upperfilters and lowerfilters.  Maybe I should give up now.  I can usually get around pretty good in computers. I have internet tech support experience.  And this is above me.... Thanks for trying to help me.  If there is something you think I can handle any help would be appreciated greatly...
