Firmware for NEC 6500A

Is there a firmware update for the 6500A? It aint very good compatible with my discs, it is only able to burn at 6x, while it should go 8x.

I've found a few firmware update but those are not ment for OEM drives so it doesn't work.
BTW, I'm on 202C now.

    Hi Boeiend-
I think an official DELL firmware did not assist at this moment.

    I found to links:

    http://tdb.rpc1.org/#ND6500A

    http://www.de.nec.de./softwareoverview2.php/id/557/lang/ENG Version 2.24 or 4.24.

But (I believe) in case you will use these updates - you will loose the dell warranty.

B.t.w. did you check your discs itself? Not all 8x discs can be burned with 8x speed in reality.

Here is a list of some discs and the maximum burn speed into the ND-6500A:

Are you running Windows XP? If so, you shouldn't need drivers for the device. Windows already has drivers.

I'm running the ND-6500A and it works find. Didn't install any drivers (in fact, the unit did not come with any drivers).

    Hi Jerry Park

We do not speak about drivers - we do speak about firmware (which is installed directly into the drive)!

    @ Tastendruecker

I know those, they don't even work because they can't find the drive (because it's a Dell). And I'll just have to wait for an official dell firmware.
My discs are good, I can burn them at 8x on my desktop (NEC 3500).
