keep getting error message

hi, I am having trouble getting my cd burner to burn anymore.  It will start to burn and a little ways in it stops and gives me a error message.  I have a dimension DIM 2200  running win xp  and the burner is a _NEC NR-7900A

The error message says-

E80041882: CD error- power calibration area error- [03/73/03]

E80041925: Track writer error- Command retry failed- [T7118]

any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

    natedogg26;

    Usually a power calibration error indicates bad media. Try burning at a slower speed with that media. The next time you buy media, I recommend Sony, Maxell or TDK.

    Hi Natedogg26,

    Media is more than likely the problem as John stated, however Dell does has a firmware update for the drive. You must use a Dell validated firmware in oreder to maintain the warranty on the drive. click the Products Tab above, then Downloads.

    Best Regards
