Problem with Windows logon
Good morning:
I'm assuming that this is a hard-drive problem. I hope you will be able to help me.
When I first turn on the computer and click the logon to windows the computer goes to my user screen right away; but then the process of uploading windows is extremely slow!
To make matters worse, it does not completely upload. I sit here waiting for about 10 minutes, then I have to click on the Start button and click log-off, it takes about another five to ten minutes for it to log-off. Then when it gets back to the users screen I have to log-on again.
The second log-on goes fast, most of the time, but the past couple of days I've noticed that the second log-on is getting a little slower.
I s there any way to fix this problem? It is really annoying to have to wait so long just to get Windows to upload, especially when you've got a lot of work ahead of you.
By the way; it does absolutely no good to click the Restart button because that just puts you back to the extremely slow log-on again.
I would so-appreciate any help I could get here! It would be wonderful to be able to log-on to Windows one time and be able to get to work quickly.
I also want to let you know that there is no-way to just let the computer log-on one-time. I tried that.
When you log-on one time and try to work on this computer, (Everything) works in slow-motion! And I have High-Speed Internet!!! Alot of times the screen freezes too; then the whole Painful-process has to start all over again!
My computer is a Dell Dimension 8250, Pentium 4 with 2.40 Ghz and 256 mb of RAM. If any more information is needed, let me know.
Please help!!!
Sincerely
NiamhSage :smileymad:
