start button doesn't work

Howdy, Start button and "my documents" and "control panel" shortcuts on taskbar don't work after gaming. Running E310 w/1gb ram.
Need to reboot. After reboot, loose "document and control panel" shortcuts.
Thnx, Bob

we can probably better help you if you explain it a little bit more. What do you mean by "loose" documents and CP. Do they just disappear or you see them but can't click?

To hopefully clarify............rt clicking on toolbar, I create "my documents" and "control panel" shortcuts. After gaming start button and shortcuts don't work. When rebooting, shortcuts disapear. Constantly have to reboot after gaming to get start button to work and constantly "create new toolbar" to get shotcuts back. Other icons in toolbar work.

Try restarting explorer by hitting Control-Alt-Delete, going to the processes tab and finding explorer.exe. Then right click on explorer.exe and click End Process. Then, goto the file menu of the task manager and goto run. Type "explorer"(without the quotes) into the text box and click OK.

When rt. clicking on "end process" I get "maybe cause instability" warning message. Is that ok?

Wouldn't want to cut my own throat.
