Dell EMC Unity: Storage Processor (SP) boots into Service Mode due to APPINIT
Good Day,
I need some help guidance please?
I recently upgrade my unity VSA firmware to UnityVSA-5.1.0.0.5.394.tgz.bin.gpg
the sp is now booting to service mode?
* Rescue Reason: 0x1200 * Rescue reason for code 0x1200 - There is a problem with the system software on this Storage Processor (APPINIT). To attempt to correct this problem, first run Data Collection, and then try the following in order: Check all cables, reboot each SP, and reimage each Storage Processor (SP). If this does not resolve the issue, contact your service provider.
I reviewed this fix and it does not seem to be working to resolve.
Thank you, support team helped me to resolve this issue;
Reported issue: Issues unity VSA SP is booting in service mode with rescue reason 0x1200
Actual issue: Issues unity VSA SP is booting in service mode with rescue reason 0x1200
Resolution: 1. Cleared the rescue counters "svc_rescue_state -c" since APPINIT counters were set. 2. "svc_mount -s -w" mounted SSD in RW mode. 3. Deleted the files under these directories /mnt/ssdroot/var/lib/pacemaker/cib/ /mnt/ssdroot/var/lib/pacemaker/pengine/ 4. RebootedSPA (svc_shutdown -r)
Array is back to normal mode and upgrade to 5.1.0.
