Isilon Aliases In ViPR Controller

anyone here know if VIPR can create aliases for isilon directory path names?

For example:

mount cluster_ip:/q4

instead of

mount cluster_ip:/ifs/data/finance/accounting/winter2015

The vipr-c online help (if you search for "ifs") shows the following:

    ***************************************************************************

To mount the NFS export, you can look at the order or at the Resources > File Systems page to find its mount point.

    For example:

    vipr-isi6132.lss.emc.com:/ifs/vipr/Isilon_Pool/Provider_Tenant/ProjectA/myNFSexport

If you have created a mount-point directory on you system (for example, /mnt/mynfs) the export can then be mounted using:

    mount -t nfs vipr-isi6132.lss.emc.com:/ifs/vipr/Isilon_Pool/Provider_Tenant/ProjectA/myNFSexport /mnt/mynfs

You can add, modify, and remove NFS export rules for a file system at the Resources > File Systems page.

    ***************************************************************************

    I hope this helps!

@Jay..Support got back to me and said NFS aliases are not supported currently, and there is no roadmap for future either.

    Hi Sudheer,

Currently there is no option to set aliase in ViPR Controller and i don't think there are going to be any further enhancements for services on file and objects.

But, you can customize with the available options under physical > controller configurations > isilon > "file system directory path" . By default its poolname/tenantname/projectname. this can be customized with the limited variables available.

    Thanks,

    Sathya
