free programs

Would avg a/v and zone alarm firewall be reliable programs?

If my isp drops the free Mcafee a/v + firewall, I'm trying to anticipate my next move.

I only need an a/v + firewall as the rest is secure.

I have been using AVG 7 Free for the last 2 years, it's fine.

Thank you. I was leery b/c the only time I ever got a virus was the moment I downloaded avg but this was a couple of years ago.
