On my Add/Remove Programs list, I have 10 that say Windows XP Hotfix, what are these?

Those are Windows updates. You want to leave those alone.

Ok, thanks bud. Also, when I press Alt-Ctrl-Del, and go to the processes tab, it says there is around 10-13 processes running (not system, but w/ my name there). Is that too many?

10-13 is fewer than average. My WinXP machine at home is running 21 processes at idle and my Win2K machine here at work (with all the network and LAN admin stuff) is running 41 processes. Most of these take up a bit of memory, but almost no processor time.

Yea, mine is running about 30 or so, including system processes. So it's ok to have that many process under my name?

Not only is it ok, but it's common. I have 46 running. Of course, I have Winamp, Trillian, ZoneAlarm, IE, and Incredimail and StyleXP running, but subtract those and I'd have 40.
