Administrator password?

When trying to do Repair from startup, and I want to repair C:\Windows, it asks for Administrator password. Since I'm the only one using this computer the only password is my User Account. What do I do to get pass Administrator password?

Just hitting enter will not work. It still requests an administrator password. Is there another way around it? What about the PSWD pins?

Can't you go into the Control Panel, select Administrator Tools, go into Computer Management, select User Management, and then change the Administrator password? This way you'll know what the password is.

I am exactly in the same situation and cannot run the repair function . I did not set up any password , my account appears through control pannel tells me that I am administrator, but does not mention any existing password and I am the only user . However the program is clearly expecting a password,. enter is not considered .

There is certainly a default password. I see in the forum that for XP professional it is "leave it blank"?, What can it be for XP Home ? . If anybody has a clue , let me know . Thank you for your help

Did you ever get an answer to this? I'm having the same problem. Got hit with malware. Stripped that off, but now XP Home does login/logout on its own. Found the solution on Lavasoft's board, but requires booting with XP install CD and using Recovery. Of course, Recovery asks for the Administrator password, which has never been set, but it won't accept simple carriage return, nor the Dell serial number,... so what's the secret password? I hope it isn't, "Re-install XP Home after formatting your disk".
