Adobe Reader

Hi, Quick question. I open adobe reader and tells me that I have had known compatibility issues. Why? I don't even use it often. Then I try to update to a newer version and won't let me. Now since playing with that I get some adobe update manager when I boot into Windows. Anyone know how I can disable this to stop telling me that its being blocked. I need to use this to read some files and will like to have it open correctly.

       Thanks for any replies

Stop Adobe from running at startup

Using Windows Defender  Open Windows Defender, Click tools, Under Category

have Startup Programs in the box. Look down the list for anything Adobe.

Highlight and the Click Disable.  Restart you machine.

Or, Using MSCONFIG Check this out

Hi, Sorry to get in the middle of this thread but I thought it may be constructive in discussion.

Do you require the "uninstall adobe tool" in vista to uninstall adobe.

I was able to uninstall without the adobe's following link in my VISTA Homepremium.

And then installed the latest Adobe flash. I did not encounter any problem though.

Any expert answer will be helpful for my future running of my computer.

I uninstalled Adobe from my computer and uninstalled fine. Then I restarted my machine and reinstalled Adobe Reader 8. Now since I installed Adobe Reader 8 it starts fine with no error and my machine does no block it the minute I turn on my machine. I think my problem is solved. Thanks for all of the help

If you had a problem uninstalling Adobe through normal means, Then

you would need the Adobe uninstaller.

Just an after thought. You really don't need Adobe running at startup.

    That's up to you.
