Brightness weak after reboot
Hello! I have an Inspiron 9400 laptop with Windows Vista. Today, when i rebooted/restarted the computer, everything was normal after I logged in etc. But suddenly the screen brighness was turned a bit down. I tried to reboot/restart but the same thing happened. Everything was normal after i logged in, and then suddenly it adjusted again. I installed a BIOS update so that I could adjust the brightness, but when i checked it, it was full, and so was the adjustment-options for the screen to. What should I do? (Before I rebooted/restarted the first time, I unplugged both the battery and the charger if that helps you)

To identify whether it is an issue with the LCD or Video card, connect an external monitor and check for the brightness on the monitor. However the issue here seems to be the LCD backlight is going off. 1. Try connecting an external monitor. 2. Try updating the video drivers. 3. Try to reseat the LCD flex cable. If you say when you log in all looks normal, and then suddenly brightness goes down, for sure it is not brightness issue, it may be a program/application making this. Something like when I had a message about the "Scheme changed to Vista Basic", it was because of Real Player, I disabled from startup items on MSCONFIG, problem fixed...GioAguilar

At least we know it is a software issue, not something bad with the computer it self...Nice to know all is OK now :smileyhappy:
