Can't remove program in control panel

Hi all,

I uninstalled a virus program before installing the purchased Norton anti virus program, but on installation i ran into problems and the windows had to fix itself on boot, it took a long time to boot trying to fix the problem , i think it did a restore to an earlyer date before it bootted, but after boot my old antivirus program showed up asking to tegister, so i went in control panel and my old program was back there but when i want ro remove it it says that the program does not exist (or something like that) so i can't remove it, and now every time i reboot it ask me the same thing.

How can i remove this.

Thanks all........Claude

I did not mentioned it because very few peaple here knows it.

It is my cable provider's security program (videotron) but as i mentioned it is not there anymore, but it still ask me to enter my client # to start it.

Ok, most AV software vendors have a removal tool for these problems.

Thanks a lot for the info, i called Videotron and they made me use a removal program i don't get the message anymore but the icon is still in the add remove program (vista) and he said that he could not go any further, but now that i don't get the message it was the main thing that concerned me.
