Say I clean install WindowsXP with a version that does not include SP1. Should I then patch it with SP1 and then SP2, or should I just patch it with SP2?
When SP-2 final is released to us poor folks in the next few days or weeks, just download the sp-2 and burn it to a cdrw or a dvd disk, and when ever you need to re-install windows, just install the sp-2 disk afterwards. Nothing else required. You can throw the sp-1 out with the trash. I'm using SP-2 RC-2 version 2162 right now and I like it so far.

How to burn the SP2 into CDR? My system always update and install by itself. There no way I can download first into a folder and then install later which I could burn the folder for future use.
Any skill would be appreciated....
After XP is released you can order it on CD from Microsoft
here. Alternatively, go to Windows Update and if Windows Update Catalog is not shown under "See Also" click "Personalize Windows Update" which will diplay it after the screen refreshes. You can go to the update catalog and download any and all updates for archiving on CD from there.
