Enable Cookies
I am having a problem with "enabling cookies" and hope that someone can help. I never had a problem with this before, but I recently upgraded AOL to 9.0 Optimized and think this is when the problem began. The problem is when I attempt to access some websites, a dialog box appears stating that I need to "enable cookies".
Prior to posting this message, I read a number of articles on the Dell Knowledge Base, as well as, the Windows website. I also read a number of very useful messages on this board about the subject. Unfortunately, nothing that I have done seems to work. Here is what I have done so far:
- Checked the Time and Date settings in the Control Panel. They are correct.
- Checked whether AdSubtract software was installed on the computer as suggested by the Windows website. Someting similiar to it was on the computer, so I uninstalled it.
- Checked the View Privacy Report on IE. Nothing there.
-Uninstalled Norton Anti-Virus.This had been causing me headaches for a while, so I just got rid of it.
- Checked and rechecked the Security and Privacy settings on the Internet Options in the Control Panel (Ad Nauseam). Not sure they are working properly because whenever I review the settings, they are never what I checked to begin with.
- Checked whether any websites are shown as blocked. None are.
My computer is Windows ME. I have the latest windows updates. My IE version is 6.02800.1106. The update versions are SP1, Q824145, Q330994.
Any suggsetions would be much appreciated.
