Error Message When Shutting down Computer

Every time I shut down my computer I get the following error message. "The instruction 0x66869b97 or 0x69532777 refered memory could not be read Click Okay to terminate program" Then is shuts down. Can anyone suggest what this might be and how it can be fixed. Thank you.

    Are you using IE?

Have you run any scans,if not run your AV and avg anti spyware in safe mode.

Also check this link for possible solutions.

I have the same problem. I went to the site suggested, but it looked a little outdated. When I get the error message at the very top of the page it says: iexplore.exe-Application Error. My error message reads: The instruction at "0x749860b0" referred memory at "0x00000000" The memory could not "read"
Click OK to terminate the program

    I'm using IE

I did do a scan in safe mode with avg anti-spyware.

    Are there any more suggestions?

    Thanks,

Try disabling add-ons one at a time for a test.

    tools>manage add-ons>highlight each one & disable.

    You might consider trying firefox.

    Hi Tom

I just did that with the add-ons and found that one of my Earthlink files was the problem. I just disabled it and it seems that everything is working fine, with no IE error message.

    Thanks for the headsup Tom
