File sharing issue
I'm having a problem with file sharing. FIRST - this was working perfectly fine for a long time. Something changed as a result of changing from Symantec Internet Security to McAfee. Problem - I have two computers on a home network. One computer has a USB attached external HDD, used as a backup and as "the" storage device for music and picture files. The external HDD is shared on the network. Additional info - this same computer also has the default shared folder from XP. When I try and access this shared drive from the other computer I get an error - "(path) is not accessible, you may not have sufficient privileges contact your network administrator" The weird thing is that I can access the default shared folder on this computer. The issue is unique to the USB attached drive. I've tried turning sharing on/off, rebooting, removing the drive from the system and putting it back, turning on/off the McAfee firewall. This is driving me nuts - any pointers?
