System Restore does not restore documents.

CDRW disks are NOT reliable to backup files.

I would echo Rick's comments on CD-RW - NOT for reliable backup. However, on a brighter note, you could try the product advertised here which claims to be able to recover files from CD. There's a free trial, so give it a try.

Maybe this link will help you to restore the deleted files from your hard drive rather than from the CD-RW: http://aumha.org/a/recover.php

I did not test it out; it was just the first hit when I googled for "restore files after emptying recycle bin", but I know Jim Eshelman's website to be a very good and reliable one.

    Good luck!

    Try also this free tool:

    PC Inspector -File Recovery

Since it has been a month or so ago already, you have small chance of recovering those files. Good luck!
